Radical Weavers is more than just a studio; it's a vibrant community dedicated to inspiring and empowering through the art of weaving. As the face of our studio, our Visitor Assistants play a crucial role in offering a world-class experience to all who step through our doors.
The Role:
As a Visitor Assistant, you will be the heartbeat of Radical Weavers, ensuring every visitor's journey is engaging, enlightening, and unforgettable. Whether you're stationed in our bustling studio or our quaint gift shop, your efforts will be pivotal in shaping positive visitor experiences. From greeting guests with a warm welcome to sharing the fascinating tale of the Radical Weavers, you will make every interaction count.
Main Responsibilities:
•Offer proactive, friendly assistance to visitors, helping them engage with our studio and collections.
•Share the rich story of the Radical Weavers, with all the necessary training and information provided by us.
•Ensure the studio is always presented impeccably, taking pride in its appearance and functionality.
•Promote workshops and encourage visitor participation, enhancing their experience.
•Uphold the studio’s standards of equality, diversity, inclusion, and health and safety.

Experience required

Who We're Looking For:
Essential:
• A genuine willingness to learn new skills.
• Confidence in engaging with the public, sharing the essence of Radical Weavers.
• The ability to thrive both in a team setting and on your own.
Desirable:
• A keen interest in or knowledge of design practices.
• A fascination with tartan, weaving, or Scottish crafts.

Travel details

We are a 2-minute walk from the train and bus stations, and there is a bus stop at our door. We are located across the street from Oxfam. Please note that there is no parking at our studio

Travel expenses

Travel costs can be reimbursed for those who would otherwise be unable to volunteer
