Trustees - Chair, Secretary and Treasurer roles

Access Orkney is a group of volunteers who work to improve access and inclusion for disabled people across Orkney. We do this by raising awareness and helping to change attitudes among the general public and our public services about the need for inclusive access.

We believe that everyone should have equal access to our communities and opportunities. Our mission is to create an inclusive environment where disabled individuals can fully participate and thrive. We want a future in which disability is not a barrier, but rather a celebration of diversity.

If you want to help make Orkney more accessible and inclusive for people to live, work and visit and have the time to attend meetings and contribute to discussions and decisions on work done by Access Orkney, please consider applying for one of the following roles:

Chair:
Leadership: Provides overall leadership to the group.
Meeting Facilitation: Chairs meetings, ensuring they run smoothly and all voices are heard.
Representation: Acts as the public face of the group and represents the group in external meetings.
Decision-Making: Helps guide decision-making processes and ensures that decisions are made democratically and transparently.
Planning: Works with other office bearers to set the agenda and priorities for the group.

Secretary:
Administration: Handles the administrative tasks of the group.

Treasurer:
Financial Management: Manages the group's finances, including budgeting, banking
Reporting: Provides regular financial reports to the group, including income and expenditure statements.
