Volunteer Members

Are you passionate about promoting inclusivity and accessibility? Join Access Orkney and contribute to our mission of creating a more inclusive Orkney for disabled people. Together, we can break down barriers and ensure that everyone has equal access to the community and opportunities.

At Access Orkney our mission is to create an inclusive environment where disabled individuals can fully participate and thrive. We envision a future in which disability is not a barrier, but rather a celebration of diversity.

What could a volunteer gain from the experience?
This would be an opportunity to support disabled people to improve access and inclusion in Orkney. All the members either have a disability, or are carer to a disabled person, or someone who has a long-term health condition. You would gain an awareness and an understanding of challenging issues that disabled people faces daily.

As a member of Access Orkney, you can:

  • Help make Orkney more accessible and inclusive for people to live, work and visit;

  • Attend meetings and contribute to discussions and decisions on work done by Access Orkney;

  • Vote for office bearers and members of the Board of Trustees.
