Volunteer Social Policy Coordinator

Glasgow - Drumchapel Citizens Advice Bureau is a local, independent charity which provides free, impartial and confidential advice and information to give you the tools you need to sort out any issues or problems. We’re at the heart of the community, supporting people who live and work in G1 to G15 and offer several services.

Make a difference at Drumchapel CAB as a Volunteer Social Policy Coordinator – it can be incredibly rewarding to contribute your time to a cause our community cares about!

Social policy work is an important part of the work of the Scottish Citizens Advice network and we are looking for volunteers to help with this.

The Scottish Citizens Advice Network defines a social policy issue as any policy or practice that negatively impacts on the wellbeing or welfare of our clients. Social policy work is about identifying problems and then influencing and changing the policies that are causing them, for the benefit of both existing and future CAB clients.

Social Policy Feedback may feel like a small part of what Bureau do compared with advice provision, but it can make a big difference to our work and the lives of those we work with across the Network.

Situated in Drumchapel the bureau offers free, confidential and impartial advice and assistance to Glasgow residents with the postcode G1 - G15. In this role, you'll develop new skills, gain more confidence and meet new people. Our volunteers come from all walks of life.

All we ask in return is a commitment of at least 6 hours per week, a willingness to learn and dedication for a minimum of 12 months.

Training will be provided through e-modules, how to guides and taught sessions.

If you are interested please click the ‘apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the Learning & Development Coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow.
