Practical Volunteer

No matter how good our services are, we can't properly support our users/community well if we don't have good coaches in the team. If this sounds like you?... we would love you to consider volunteering with us for a few hours per week.

Knowetop is 15 acre site in Castlehill, Dumbarton, formerly the site of a community farm. The project was set up in 2021 and became a charity, Knowetop SCIO, in October 2023. Our aim is to make Knowetop a good place for people and a good place for nature.
As part of our activities on site we run twice weekly practical volunteer sessions for adults. These take place on Tuesday afternoons between 1pm and 4pm, and Thursday mornings from 10am to 1pm.
Volunteers undertake a range of different practical tasks, such as clearing vegetation, maintaining paths, improving habitats, sowing / planting fruit & vegetables, re-purposing materials, DIY and any other jobs that need doing as part of our community food growing and habitat management work.
So, whether you are looking to use your time well, update your skills or have the chance to do something a bit new, we would love to hear from you. In return, we can offer you a warm welcome and all of the support and help you could need.

We are seeing a rise in demand for our services, everyday. Having your help will allow us to be there for the people who need us. Any time you can give will make a real difference.

Experience required

It's not necessary to have horticulture or conservation skills or experience, it's a bonus if people do, anyone willing to help out is welcome.
