Befriender/Face to Face

There are many lonely isolated people in our community. Befriending makes a vital difference to peoples mental health and wellbeing .One to one befriending involves our befriending volunteers acting as a ‘good neighbour’, by visiting people at home and spending some time with them. Sometimes you may like to have a cuppa and a catch up , other times, you may want to go on a shopping trip or out for lunch together. Visits are arranged to suit you and your friends schedule and take place at least once a week.
What makes a good volunteer befriender?
Someone who is empathetic
Someone who is a good listener
Someone one who is reliable
Someone who could commit to volunteering 1-2 hours each week
If you think that this sounds like you then please get in touch.
