Home-Start volunteers work alongside families to give compassionate and confidential support, tailored to each family’s needs.

Trustees are responsible for providing leadership and direction for the scheme within the ethos and values of Home-Start and ensuring that the scheme has a clear mission, vision and strategic direction and is focussed on achieving these.

Also responsible for the effective performance of the scheme, ensuring the scheme complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, including the Home- Start Standards and Methods of Practice and the agreement and quality standards- undertaking an ambassadorial role for Home-Start.

The board meets up every 6-8 weeks and trustee volunteers are asked to commit approximately 10 hours a month.

Experience required

Trustees are from all ages and backgrounds, with a variety of experience including bringing up children, fundraising, business management, financial and legal expertise, IT knowledge, Human resources, PR & media skills.
