Dog Foster Volunteer

Help us to help more staffies in need! Our fosterers help us to assess dogs and often support them into a new home life.

As a Staffie fosterer, you will look after one of our dogs in your home while we are assessing them and finding them the best fit as their forever home.
•Look after one of our dogs in your own home
•Report back to SSBTR on the dogs wellbeing, temperament and give updates, this helps us to find the best match for a forever home!
•Ensure the dog’s needs are met including diet, exercise, any medications etc. (you will be advised of all known needs before you commit to fostering a particular dog)
•Support the dog to train and become more confident
•Treat the dog as though they were your own (with a few rules, which are in our Fostering handbook)

If you are interested please click the ‘Apply’ button (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on info@volunteerglasgow.org

Experience required

Experience of dog ownership (ideally with a large/bull breed)
Ideally a garden, and no other pets, but we will always look to match the most appropriate foster home to any dog (some dogs may be cat, dog or child friendly, but many are not).
