This role is all about providing stability for our dogs and finding the best possible forever homes and the best foster carers for our dogs.
Homecheck volunteers are essential to make sure that any potential foster or forever home is safe and appropriate for the dogs needs.
You will visit potential homes and assess them based on criteria like the layout, space, garden and the family, their routines and try to establish what the dogs life would be like in that home.
You will receive full training and a form for this role.
The final decision rests with our trustees, but you will gather the information to help them decide.
When we have potential homes to be checked we let our local home checkers know the postcode areas and they let us know if they are available. This is an ad hoc opportunity dependent on your availability and the homes we are getting applications from.
Travel expenses are paid.
If you are interested please click the ‘Apply’ button (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on info@volunteerglasgow.org
