Volunteering details
Angus Housing Associations Tenants Participation Team support tenants and the wider community through a range of provisions and activities. As part of our delivery, we host monthly Bingo Blether sessions in Russell Square, Arbroath on the last Wednesday of every month from 1.30pm until 4.30pm and work with the group to support them with event planning.
Role Purpose:
As a volunteer, you will work with the Tenant Engagement Assistant to set up and prepare for the session and ensure that the bingo runs smoothly; this can involve supporting individuals to take part in a game of bingo. In addition, volunteers will have the opportunity to work alongside the group to plan seasonal events and activities. Most importantly, we hope that you will enjoy the bingo sessions and chatting to the group.
Specific Tasks:
- Speaking to those who attend
- Welcoming people into the building
- Helping to set up tables and chairs
- Making soup/snacks (on occasion)
- Making teas/coffees
- Helping to tidy up
Skills and Qualities Needed: We are looking for individuals who have good interpersonal skills who are welcoming and engaging and enjoy working with people.
We like to provide the group with light snacks and refreshments such as soup, tea, coffee and juice. If you have general knowledge regarding food prep and an awareness of dietary needs, this would be helpful but not necessary.
Commitment: Last Wednesday of every month. The group will run from 2-4pm but we will set up and clear up before and after the session from 1:30-4:30pm
