Dundee Kiltwalk: We’re looking for Course Marshals!

Volunteering details

Call for Volunteers: Join the Kiltwalk Team in Dundee! Kiltwalk are looking for Course Marshals to help out at the Dundee Kiltie team for the Dundee Kiltwalk on Sunday, 16th August 2026.
Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event. Since 2016, our incredible community—including over 240,000 participants and The Hunter Foundation—has raised a staggering £63 million for 4,400 Scottish charities. As a Route Kiltie, you will be on the front lines, providing the motivation and support our walkers need to cross the finish line and raise vital funds for the causes they care about most.
Why Volunteer? Be part of the atmosphere: Soak up the famous Kiltwalk energy and meet like-minded people. Gain experience: Build your event management and volunteer experience. We've got you covered: We provide a full Kiltie uniform, lunch, and even have bikes available if you need one!
As a Route Motivator Kiltie (course marshal), you will be positioned at key points along the route to direct walkers and provide them with support, encouragement and motivation when they need it most. This is a fun-filled role and one of the most important to our walkers. Noise makers will be provided!
Our walkers rely on the encouragement and motivation they receive from our volunteers and many report that this is what ultimately gets them across the finish line.
Training: We provide full training, plus a quick e-learning module and a short briefing session prior to the event.
Travel: Volunteers arrange their own travel, but we offer travel support of up to £20 which can be claimed post-event.
