Cue & Review Recording Service
- VO100690
We provide a “Talking Newspaper” service, making recordings of articles from daily and weekly newspapers including the Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs Herald for visually and reading impaired people across the country to listen to online through our website www.cueandreview.com, internet radio or Amazon Alexa enabled devices. We also create weekly podcasts of articles from the newspapers we cover which are available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and more.
We interact with local visually and reading impairment advocacy and support groups too, to get feedback on our service and help our listeners with any technical problems they have relating to accessing the “Talking Newspaper” service.
Experience required
Volunteer must be able to buy a copy of and record from the Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs Herald with fluency, and be able to send audio files of each article they record- usually by email.
Travel details
Most of our volunteers record from a quiet space in their own homes either using their computer, microphone and Audacity software (which is free to download and use) or a free App on their Google or iOS smartphone.
Our studios are in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow with on-site parking. They are also five minute walk from Bishopbriggs train station. Bishopbriggs is served by several bus routes too.
