OH!CON Merchandise Sales

About this event

Merchandise Sales for the OH!CON Comic Con
OH!CON attracts a wide audience of people of all ages and is a welcoming and inclusive event. The merch table will attract many visitors who may ask questions about the programme as well, so a friendly face is essential. You will be responsible for managing sales, dealing with cash and card payment (using the Sum Up system). The merch table will also multi-task in selling raffle tickets and also helping people register for the cosplay masquerades (which will include checking that all costumes are safe and appropriate!!).

Volunteering details

Merchandise Sales for the OH!CON Comic Con:
• Look after OH!CON merch table
• Sell items and process card sales on SUM UP system
• Record cash sales
• Answer queries and point people to activities as needed
• Take responsibility for all sales items, look for t-shirt sizes, etc.
• Sell raffle tickets
• Keep register for the cosplay masquerades

Experience required

No specific experience is required, but some customer service experience would be an advantage. Volunteers will need to use their initiative to wander around a venue to be visible and recognise if someone needs assistance or recognise if an issue needs to be resolved. There will always be support via the registration desk.

Travel details

The comic con will take place in Stornoway town centre. Volunteers should be able to make their own way to the event.

Travel expenses

No expenses but all subsistence provided, plus a follow up thank you celebration.

Training details

Volunteers will need to make themselves available for a few hours training before the comic con, and would be willing to do a shift of at least 5 hours on the day of the con, Saturday 12 October. Subsistence will be provided.
