Central and West Integration Network (CWIN) is a charity based in Garnethill. We support migrants -- including asylum seekers and refugees -- and BAME communities with integration services and practical support.
One of our core services is the Food Hub, a pantry that provides food for over 80 families every week. Most of this food comes from donations — surplus or near-expiry items — and we need volunteer drivers to help us collect and deliver it.
What the Role Involves:
-Collect donated food from organisations across Glasgow at agreed times.
-Deliver items to the Food Hub at 21 Rose Street, G3 6RE (inside the Low Emission Zone).
-Store chilled or frozen goods safely in our fridges/freezers.
-Build friendly relationships with our donors — pass on messages, say thank you, and represent CWIN warmly.
When We Need Help:
-Collection times vary, but preferred times are Monday–Friday, 10 AM–4 PM.
-If you're only available outside those hours, we’d still love to hear from you — we may be able to match you to other collections.
Support and Expenses:
You’ll be supported by our Food Hub Development Officer, who will help coordinate collections and be available if you need anything.
We reimburse mileage at the standard volunteer rate of 45p per mile.
If you are interested, please click the ‘apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out, then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow at 0141 226 3431.
