We are recruiting Coastguard Rescue Officers. Do you think you can make that difference when called out to assist those in gravest need?
Do you live in Harris? We are looking to enhance our numbers in these areas.
The Coastguard Rescue Service is a national blue light emergency service that provides 24/7 land-based help to anyone in danger on the coast.
We have exciting opportunities for people to join their local teams as a
volunteer Coastguard Rescue Officer.
Full Training, PPE and appropriate uniform is provided.
Ideal candidates must live locally to their station (within 10-15minutes
drive). The role is voluntary, but some remuneration is made for time spent
training and for attendance at incidents.

Support
Training details
You must pass initial training by HM Coastguard, followed by regular training to keep your skills up to date.
This will include training in:
first aid
water rescue
map work
search techniques
communications
skills you need for your local area, for example rope rescue, mud rescue
Training is often held in the evenings or at weekends.
You’ll be given all the equipment and protective clothing that you need.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
Availability
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
