Volunteer Activity Co-ordinator - Ayrshire

Quarriers Homelife – Ayr is a supported living service. Providing practical and emotional support for individuals living in the community who require mental health support or support with learning/physical disabilities.

The main tasks for the Volunteer Group Worker will include:


  • Assist in planning and facilitation of group work activities

  • Assist with provision of the group programme

  • Source nearby amenities and identify appropriate resources

  • Communicate and interact with young people to establish non judgemental and supportive relationships

  • Understand and maintain boundaries

  • Ensure voluntary activities are undertaken in line with Quarriers confidentiality policy


Experience required


  • Desire to work with young people

  • Ability to contribute as part of a team

  • Understanding and commitment to working in a way that recognizes values and diversity

  • Effective communication skills and non judgemental approach


Restrictions

Minimum age: 18

Frequency & commitment
To get the most out of the roles it is hoped you can commit for a half day per week for at least six months.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
