Veterans First Point Drop-In Peer Volunteer

Veterans First Point Lothian (V1P) provide free advice and support to anyone who has served in the Armed Forces in any capacity. V1P are looking for volunteers who would like to provide veterans with one-to-one support and help with the running of Wednesday and Thursday afternoon veteran drop-in sessions. Volunteers should bring their own experience in the armed forces and be able to use this appropriately to build trusting and meaningful relationships with those who are seeking support.

Peer Volunteers will support the drop-in service which is offered by Veterans First Point Lothian (V1P) to veterans within Lothian. Volunteers will act as a friendly face upon arrival to the service and a listening ear to those attending. Applicants must have served in the Armed Forces.

The drop-in sessions will take place at: V1P Lothian, 468 Gilmerton Road First Floor, Rothesay Wing, Edinburgh, EH17 7SA. These are held on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

In time, volunteers may travel around the city to support people to engage in community activities. This will be arranged to suit the volunteer and client.
