Activities and Event Support Volunteer

The Community team at Cassiltoun Housing Association runs a wide range of community activities, mainly from the historic Castlemilk Stables. Our large events range from our famous Halloween Pumpkin Festival through to our summer Fairy and Goblin Day and Doggy Day and festive activities! We run a wide range of activities from school holiday programmes, to weekly community meals, art and writing groups. We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to support our work.

Volunteers are a vital part in planning and delivery of our community projects, events and activities. Our weekly activity sessions are flexible but would normally take place Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between the times of 9am-5pm.

Some events at Cassiltoun take place in the evening and would normally be from 6-8pm with the occasional weekend event. Each volunteer has a designated Lead Person who would be responsible for making sure there is sufficient training and support in place for you to carry out your role.

The tasks carried out depends on which activity/event is taking place but some typical tasks include:

-Facilitating activities such as craft tables, games, sports, outdoor play
-Marshall or actor- at our larger events such as Halloween Spooky Walk
-Set up and breakdown- arranging chairs, tables and supplies for activities or decorating for events and putting everything back once session is over
-Preparation or serving of food- mostly for our Community Lunch and school holiday sessions
-Planning activities and sessions
-Engaging with tenants and community members at activities

If you are interested in working with us, please apply at the button below and a member of our team will aim to get back to you within 5-7 working days. More information about Cassiltoun Housing Association can be found on Facebook and on our website at https://cassiltoun.org.uk/volunteering/.
