Exhibition Engagement Volunteer - Kirkcaldy

We are OnFife, a registered charity, and we know how valuable creativity is to our communities. Our spaces are some of Fife’s favourite places: museums, theatres, galleries, libraries, and archives.

We are looking for volunteers to support a new exhibition: “Before and After Coal” from 7th December 2024 – 13th April 2025 in Kirkcaldy Galleries, to help us create a warm, welcoming environment for visitors.

The Exhibition Engagement volunteer opportunity involves welcoming visitors, sharing information about the fascinating exhibits and gathering valuable feedback. If you are interested in heritage and culture and would like to make a difference by inspiring visitors, this might be the role for you. You will have the opportunity to enhance your confidence, widen your knowledge of Fife’s heritage as well as gaining experience of cultural engagement.

Whether you can join us for the entire exhibition duration, or part of it, your contribution will be greatly appreciated.

Experience required

-Friendly and Outgoing: Enjoy interacting with visitors and making them feel welcome.
-Interest in Arts and Culture: A passion for arts, heritage, history, and culture.
-Communication Skills: Confidence in engaging with visitors, starting conversations, and sparking their interest.
-Survey Support: Comfortable asking visitors to complete evaluation surveys and using our iPads to facilitate this. (We provide all the training you’ll need!)

Travel details

The opportunity takes place in Kirkcaldy Galleries, War Memorial Gardens, Kirkcaldy, KY1 1YG. The exhibition galleries are located on upper floor, where there is a lift and accessible walkways to galleries.
