Do you love creating welcoming spaces for the community?
Springhill Community Garden is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help run our “Sunday Café” – a weekly gathering aimed at bringing the community together over hot drinks, food, and great company.
*About us:
Springhill Community Garden is for the community, by the community. We don’t just garden – we are committed to providing social opportunities! A place where people come together for shared causes.
*The Sunday Café:
This new initiative comes at a time when the colder weather is drawing in, and we want to support local residents who may be experiencing social isolation or food insecurity.
*Who we are looking for:
Whether you have experience in cafes or events, or simply have a friendly face and a helping hand, we’d love for you to be involved! Your role could include helping to make and serve hot drinks, welcoming visitors, and assisting in running the café smoothly.
*What’s in it for you?:
• Develop hospitality skills while volunteering in a relaxed environment.
• Connect with local residents and become part of a friendly, supportive community.
• Make a positive impact by helping to create a space where everyone feels welcome.
• Enjoy the benefits of spending time outdoors and contributing to a community-focused project.
• Help to plan and deliver further social events at the garden, e.g. if you have ideas for entertainment, music, or further food events – we’d love to hear them!
*How to get there:
Springhill Community Garden is easily accessible, located behind Sheddocksley Sports Centre on Springhill Road. We are especially keen to hear from people living in the local areas of Mastrick, Sheddocksley, Northfield, and surrounding neighbourhoods.

Any relevant skills are welcome, get in touch or come visit us and discuss your volunteer aims.

Springhill Community Garden is located behind Sheddocksley Sports Centre on Springhill Road. The garden is a former bowling green accessed by a paved path.

Flexible times available to help. All help makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.
Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
