Board Trustee

We might be for you if:
• You are wanting to volunteer but don’t have time for a weekly commitment or set time each week.
• You are a professional who is wanting to develop their knowledge and learn new skills.
• You want to volunteer with an organisation that has real impact in its community and is making a difference.

We are looking for inspiring people, who can join us and help ensure we are delivering our strategy and making a real impact and shaping the future of LCTS.

Trustees and Committee members will be expected;
• To assist the Chair in providing Board leadership on specific areas of strategic direction.
• To act as an effective champion for LCTS.
• To ensure that LCTS is representative of the communities we serve.
• To oversee and ensure the implementation of LCTS policies.
• To ensure effective corporate governance, risk management and financial management of LCTS.
• To uphold the highest ethical standards of integrity and comply with the Board’s Code of Conduct.

What can we offer?
We provide a full trustee induction and warm welcome to LCTS. We can offer opportunities for professional development and experience, alongside support from a well-established trustee board. We offer a hybrid meeting format, so you do not need to live locally to our office bases in Portobello or Dalkeith. We ask that trustees and committee members attend our AGM in person and expenses are provided. We aim to provide a balanced workload and share tasks equally. Committee and board meetings take place on a quarterly basis.

LCTS is committed to increasing the diversity of our Board and team and welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and faith.

Experience required

We are particularly seeking individuals with experience in the following areas:
• Lived experience of Community Transport
• Finance experience
• HR experience
• Lived experience of an accessibility need
