The Salvation Army is a worldwide Christian church. Their mission is based on their faith in Jesus Christ who wants everyone to experience life in all its fullness. They put their faith into action by offering practical help for people without discrimination. The Arbroath congregation are looking for volunteers to help out with their Parent and Toddler Group.

This is an opportunity to help in a vibrant and happy group where parents/carers accompany their children in play, listening and singing on Monday and/or Tuesday mornings during term time.

The format of the group is relaxed and supports children to follow their own ideas and interests for play and provides stimulating and creative play opportunities tailored to individual needs and development stages in a safe environment.

Your responsibilities will include arriving before the session on the day or days you volunteer, preparing for each session, assisting in crafts, play, snack time and singing, and packing away.

You could also be involved in:
• Monitoring the safety of the group
• Registration of parents and children attending
• Interaction with children during play and activities
• Setup of play materials and toys etc
• The provision of snacks and drinks for group

If you have a background of being a parent, grandparent or have teaching experience this might suit you well. If you are a qualified first aider and/or have a food hygiene certificate this would help but we also enable training in these areas if necessary.
Regular, once a week attendance at the group, or more as agreed.
Additional training will be available depending on group needs
