Shelter Scotland (Aberdeen Hub)
- VO101690
This is an exciting role for someone who is interested in Housing Law and Social Justice.
Volunteers will attend court (on a Friday at Aberdeen Sheriff Court as this is when the Court sits) initially with a Housing Rights Worker and then move towards attending court independently to record case outcomes. Volunteers will pass on the details of Shelter Scotland to anyone unrepresented and requiring assistance. We also request that those attending court, complete Shelter Scotland’s questionnaire and will provide admin support by updating court spreadsheet with court outcomes. Volunteers may also be asked to undertake other admin tasks.
Main tasks include
• Attending court to sit in public gallery to take note of court case outcomes.
• Engaging with people attending court unrepresented.
• Providing information about Shelter Scotland services with leaflets, signposting to our website.
• Complete tenant questionnaire on experience of being in rent arrears
