Community Pathways
- VO101757
The foodbank runs on a Tuesday morning from 10:30am - 12:30pm. The foodbank volunteer will be responsible for welcoming customers and directing them to sign in at the main door. The foodbank volunteer will ask the customer if they have a referral slip. They will provide the customer with a slip if they do not have one. The customer would then be seated and offered tea or coffee while the foodbank volunteer organised the food bag to take away. The Trussell Trust provide pre-made food bags which are weighed and measured for specific family sizes. The customer will then sign to accept the food bag and the foodbank volunteer will attach the signature to the referral slip. The foodbank volunteer should be warm and welcoming to all customers and will be given the opportunity to engage with everyone. The foodbank volunteer will be supported to understand their role and learn how to signpost customers to local support services.
