Special Police Constable (Orkney)

Special Police Constable, a volunteering role like no other.

Flexible - 4 hours each week, up to 96 hours or more per year.
18+ (no upper age limit)

Role Description:
Are you interested in becoming a volunteer with Police Scotland?
With a long and impressive history. The special constable role is a part-time, volunteer opportunity where members of the public can maximise their spare time supporting their communities. Not only will you support the vision of Police Scotland for safer communities, less crime, and supporting victims. You will be joining a thriving workforce which may offer opportunities for a new career.

As a special constable, you will be given identical powers to that of a police officer, who you will work alongside and at times that best suit you.

If you are interested in volunteering up to 96 hours per year, learning new skills, forging strong partnerships in the community, preventing crime, and making a real difference in the community you love, then this is the role for you.

Our special constables come from all walks of life including professionals, parents, teachers, students, and from sectors such as retail, transport, finance, engineering, and many, many more.
