Board Secretary and Trustee

North East Rider Volunteers Scotland – NERVs are seeking a Board Secretary and Trustee to assist in the vital work of the charity. The volunteer role involves:

● Organise and participate in regular NERVs board meetings.
● Ensure minutes of meetings are kept to appropriate standards.
-Work with Board and Trustee’s to expedite outstanding action items and escalate issues where necessary.
● Oversee and produce Charity Correspondence to key NERVS stakeholders including but not limited to:
-OSCR
-Major Donors
-Other official bodies
● Pass any Press releases onto Commssco for publication
● Carry out secretarial duties as required by other board members.
● Be an approved Bank Signatory after an acceptable time.

Relevant guidance and support is provided to all volunteers. New starts get an induction to our policies, also training is given as new procedures come into place. There is always someone on the other end of a phone or on Teams to support the volunteers.


All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.

Travel details

Online and occasionally at our base in Torry.

Travel expenses

45p per mile if using own car for charity business between base and place of appointment only if no NERVS cars available.

Support
Training details

Excellent support and relevant guidance is provided to all volunteers. New starts get an induction to our policies, also training is given as new procedures come into place. There is always someone on the other end of a phone or on Teams to support the volunteers

Minimum age: 18

Frequency & commitment
Flexible times. All help makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
