Biology Tutor - Secondary Level

The Inclusive Homework Club was founded in 2018 to create an educational support hub for people with learning difficulties and from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our team of dedicated volunteers is at the heart of what we do, providing education support and encouragement to children, families, and adults who need it most. By volunteering for the Inclusive Homework Club, you will gain new skills and experiences, but most importantly you will make a difference in the educational outcomes of children whose parents are unable to fully support them.

We provide extra support for children with:
•Learning difficulties.
•Asylum-seeking, refugee, and/or ethnic backgrounds.
•Families who have difficulty providing extra support.

We also provide:
•Adult learning courses for those who are Asylum-seeking, refugee, and/or from ethnic backgrounds, and anyone looking to learn new skills.

We are urgently looking for Tutors who can provide educational support in Secondary Biology.

We help children from P1 up to S6 in a wide range of subjects, so whatever your skills we want to hear from you!

Each session lasts one hour, and we require a minimum commitment of two hours per week. (including 1 hour preparation)

Currently, volunteering will take place face to face Monday - Wednesday.
Thursdays are entirely dedicated to online sessions.

Our schedule is as follows:
• Monday and Tuesday: 4 pm-7 pm at Kinning Park Complex, 43 Cornwall St, Glasgow G41 1BA.
• Wednesday: 4 pm-6 pm at Clyde Community Hall, 41 Whitefield Rd, City, Glasgow G51 2YB.
• Thursday: 4 pm-7 pm, online.

A PVG is required to become a tutor so all interested applicants must be able to pass a background check. Due to urgency, having an existing PVG membership is highly preferred. However, we will start your PVG application if needed and related costs will be covered by us. Once you have your PVG cleared you are ready to go!

We will have training on the 8th of January 2024 (17.00- 19.00), you will be recommended to attend this training.

For more information, feel free to contact Dhai (Volunteer Coordinator) at dhai@inclusivehwclub.org.uk or 07482695432. They will contact you during office hours, Monday 11.30-18.00/ Tuesday and Wednesday 10.00-16.00

If you are interested please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the Project Coordinator by email or phone.
