Volunteer Guide/Helper/Gardener

Come and join our wonderful team of volunteers who help to bring this 16th century castle's history to life. Thirlestane is set within the beautiful Lauderdale Estate in the Scottish Borders.
Historic home of the Duke of Lauderdale, the Castle is one of the oldest and finest in Scotland and still remains home to the Maitland family today.

Our volunteers help with all aspects of our day visitor offer, whether it's becoming a guide, helping with refreshments, helping in the gift shop, or helping to maintain the grounds.

If you have an interest in Scotland's history and historic homes, get in touch and find out more.

Experience required

Ability to speak confidently to a group (for guides)
