We have opportunities for long term volunteer assistant rangers from mid March until start of September to undertake a wide range of tasks from visitor management, surveying & monitoring to practical work. You should have an interest in wildlife, good level of health and fitness, flexible attitude towards working hours, ability to live and work with small team in isolated setting, sense of humour & “staying power”, enjoy the outdoors, practical experience useful, good communication skills.
Experience required
Relevant academic background useful as is experience of communal remote living.
Travel details
We are able to arrange pick ups in Ullapool or alternatively, you would need to drive to the Handa ferry terminal
Travel expenses
We will reimburse reasonable travel expenses to & from Handa at the start and end. We provide a subsistence allowance for food costs and we provide free on site accommodation.

Training details
2-day Outdoor Emergency First Aid course; full
training necessary to carry out maintenance, surveys & monitoring; all equipment and support throughout the
season
Taster
A full induction is provided to volunteers when they start.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
There would be some physical requirements necessary for living & working on the island.
Availability
Frequency & commitment
This is a full time, 35 hour week, residential opportunity. It requires considerable time & personal commitment to live & work on an island with your fellow volunteers & staff.Unfortunately you can't volunteer for this opportunity using this site, you should apply using this link.
