Youth Worker: supporting young people from an asylum seeking and refugee background.

Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their goals and reach positive destinations?

Youth Community Support Agency is a youth-led charity aiming to empower the BME community. We are looking to recruit a volunteer a youth worker for our project 'Safe to Grow' which works specifically with asylum seekers and refugees. We would like a dedicated and passionate individual who wishes to share their skills and build the skills and confidence of our service users. Volunteers are required for one evening a week, to run a casual drop-in session.

Your main responsibilities:
• Organise and engage young people
• Encourage young people to participate and develop confidence.
• Connect and build trusting relationships with young people.

We would like the volunteer to run weekly sessions for an agreed-upon period (with the hope to extend in the foreseeable future).

As a volunteer you will be fully supported by the Volunteer Coordinator.

YCSA requires all volunteers to be PVG certified and will provide the necessary training to work with children and vulnerable adults. Additional volunteer training and supervision will also be offered.

If you are interested please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). The coordinator will then contact you by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on info@volunteerglasgow.org
