LGBT+ Helpline Volunteer

Answer calls, emails and Live Chats on our national LGBT+ Helpline. Provide
emotional support, information and signposting services to LGBTQ+ callers, those questioning their sexuality/gender as well as friends, families and professionals seeking support.
Listen and offer emotional support to callers on a wide range of issues and topics including sexual health, relationships, coming out, sexual
orientation, trans issues, LGBT rights and community safety.

Travel details

The helpline is based in our Edinburgh office at Duncan Place Community
Hub, 4 Duncan Place, Edinburgh, EH6 8HW. Most volunteers are required to travel there for their shift. However, there are limited opportunities for people to volunteer from a quiet, uninterrupted, confidential space with
internet connection in their home.

Travel expenses

There is a digital form to complete detailing expenses and including receipts which are then reimbursed into a bank account. Generally we do this quarterly but can be more frequent as required.
