Social Media Volunteer

If you'd like to have a positive effect on people in your community, this is the role for you.

The role is flexible and works around your developing and established skills and talents. The aim is to communicate our service provision, that aims to support adults to enjoy a social environment and have an opportunity to reduce social isolation and loneliness. The role can be split into areas of purpose, across the session, where you offer an hour one week and maybe more the next.

Skills and talents that could be advantageous to the social media role include:
Posting activities that are up and coming or what the social centres have been engaging in and converting the communication into a reputational content.
Creating video’s, gifs and other engaging material that can be used over multiple communication channels.
Having conversations that engages and connects within our core value to care and protect.
Communicating stimulating activities that sparks brilliance, fun and engagement that widens the reach.
Volunteer recruitment campaigns and other related campaigns and activities.


Experience required

Working with people - people skills, patience and good written communication skills.
Verbal and creative communication skills.
Social intelligence – caring, empathic, and enabling.
Planning, organising and reviewing – self-management and ensuring tasks and activities are delivered on time.
Problem-solver and solution focused.
Supporting person-centred and relationship-based practice.

Minimum age: 16
May require a PVG if taking on a lead volunteer role.

Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
