Volunteer Events Assistant

Volunteer Events Assistants will play a vital role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of health and wellbeing events at Cornerstone House Centre. These events aim to enhance the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of the Cumbernauld community. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives that make a positive impact on individuals and families.

Assisting the development and organisation of health and wellbeing events, such as workshops, seminars and community gatherings will form part of the role. Volunteers will also help promote events through various channels, including social media and local networks, to ensure maximum participation.

They will also assist in arranging event logistics, including venue set-up, equipment preparation and materials distribution, as guided by an experienced member of staff. Welcoming and coordinating registration of event attendees, providing information and ensuring a positive experience for all participants will also be central to the position.

Experience required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are desirable, enabling volunteers to engage with diverse audiences. Exhibiting a friendly and approachable manner with a passion for community engagement is also important.

Volunteers should be able to operate flexibly to assist with various tasks and adjust to changing event needs. Their ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and community members will also be crucial to the role.
