We are looking for Reception Volunteers to provide a friendly welcome to patients and guests when they arrive at the Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow, helping to create an enjoyable environment for everyone.
Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks:
Greet all visitors in a friendly and professional way, in line with hospice security requirements
Take in postal deliveries, informing staff as necessary
Handle incoming phone calls politely, taking and relaying messages as appropriate
Ensure the Reception area is clean and tidy
Maintain confidentiality regarding patient details and hospice records
Help with other related tasks when necessary

Experience required
Good people skills, communication and orginisation
Good computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases
Friendly and polite
Good literacy and numeracy
A commitment to high standards and the provision of excellent service
An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
Empathy and an understanding of the needs of those affected by end-of-life care issues.
Travel expenses
Agreed reasonable out-of-pocket expenses paid to all volunteers
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
Frequency & commitment
2-3 hours per week or every other week
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
