CAPS Independent Advocacy

CAPS provides Individual Advocacy in East Lothian and Midlothian and runs several experience-led Collective Advocacy projects across Lothian. You will receive induction, training, guidance and support from CAPS staff. Experience required
Desirable skills include:
• Knowledge of the duties of a charity trustee.
• Knowledge of the effects of living with mental health issues
• Understanding of conflict of interest
• Ability to work as part of a team.
Travel details
The role is mostly done remotely but the volunteer must live in Scotland.
Travel expenses
As required, we will provide a policy on expenses.
Support
Training details
CAPS CEO will liaise with the volunteer before they begin the role, they will have continuous support from the CEO and the Communications and Resources Manager.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
This is the age group of people we are funded to work with.
Must live in Scotland.
Availability
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
