Occasional Event Volunteer

Are you looking for a flexible and fulfilling way to contribute to your Ostomate community? Do you have a passion for supporting individuals living with a stoma? Our Occasional Event Volunteer role might be the perfect fit for you!

We're seeking enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to support our regular group organisers at group meetings, to ensure there are always two Volunteers at events (to cover occasional sickness or similar).

As well as at special events, information days, awareness sessions, and fundraising activities. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference on an occasional basis, fitting around your existing commitments.

As an Occasional Event Volunteer, you'll be involved in:
• Supporting Special Events: Assisting with the setup, running, and breakdown of information days, awareness sessions, and other special events aimed at supporting ostomates.
• Fundraising Activities: Helping with fundraising initiatives, such as merchandise sales, raffles, and other events, to support the vital work of POOSScotland CIC.
• Providing General Support: Offering assistance to regular group organisers and attendees, ensuring events run smoothly and efficiently.
• Raising Awareness: Helping to raise awareness of stomas and the support provided by POOSScotland CIC within the wider community.
• Meeting and Greeting: Welcoming people to events and providing a friendly face for the organisation.
This is a wonderful opportunity to:
• Contribute to a valuable cause and make a positive impact on the lives of ostomates and their families.
• Gain experience in event support and fundraising.
• Meet new people and become part of a supportive team.
• Learn more about stomas and the challenges faced by those living with them.
• Enjoy flexible volunteer hours.

We provide:
• Volunteer induction and support.
• A friendly and welcoming team environment.
• Reimbursement of reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred while volunteering.
• The chance to make a real difference with limited regular commitment.
