Glasgow Kiltwalk Course Marshals

Volunteering details

Join our fantastic team of Kiltie volunteers and help support thousands of walkers as they take on the Glasgow Kiltwalk and fundraise for a charity close to their heart.

As a Route Motivator Kiltie (course marshal), you will be positioned at key points along our 23 mile route from Glasgow Green to Balloch. You will be responsible for directing walkers, ensuring they follow safety guidelines and providing them with support, encouragement and motivation when they need it most. This is a fun-filled role and one of the most important to our walkers.

The Glasgow Kiltwalk will take place on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April. Shift times are as follows, however we can offer flexibility if required. We will work with you to find a position along the route to suit.

Saturday 26th April
10:30am - 5pm or 11am to 7pm betwen Bowling Harbour and Vale of Leven

Sunday 27th April
Various morning and afternoon shifts starting between 7am and 1pm and finishing between 2pm and 9pm. You will be positioned somewhere along the route between Yoker and Balloch.

Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event with over 145,000 people taking part since 2016. The kind-hearted Kiltwalk community have taken big strides for charities close to their hearts and together with The Hunter Foundation have managed to raise a staggering £42.5 million to date. All funds raised have been distributed to 3,330 Scottish Charities.

Our walkers rely on the encouragement and motivation they receive from our volunteers and many report that this is what ultimately gets them across the finish line. Be part of a feel-good event, soak up the Kiltwalk atmosphere and meet like-minded people. You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills and gain valuable experience in the events industry. It truly is a rewarding day!
