Digital Skills Coach for young asylum seekers and refugees

Youth Community Support Agency is a youth-led charity aiming to empower the BME community. We are looking to appoint a computing coach for our programme 'Safe to Grow' which works specifically with asylum seekers and refugees. This would involve typing, learning how to find information/ refine searches (e.g. for jobs), and navigate basic software. We would like a dedicated and passionate individual who wishes to share their skills and build the skills and confidence of our service users. Someone with experience in this sport and the confidence to facilitate training sessions.

Your main responsibilities:
• Co-design and facilitate computing sessions.
•Encourage young people to participate and develop confidence.
•Connect and build trusting relationships with young people.

We would like the volunteer to run weekly sessions for an agreed-upon time period. There is no set day of working yet, it would depend on the individual. It's a flexible opportunity. The commitment is one session per week for at least one month.

YCSA is looking for dedicated volunteers to support our work with young people. As part of our team, you’ll receive essential child protection training covering recognizing and reporting abuse, following safeguarding procedures and understanding key legal frameworks. This training ensures all volunteers can create a safe and supportive environment. If you're passionate about making a difference and want to be part of a team that prioritizes young people's well-being, get in touch today!

After you apply below you will be invited for an informal chat.

If you are interested please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on info@volunteerglasgow.org
