Trustee – Help Shape the Future of Common Thread Vision
Are you passionate about supporting older adults and making a meaningful impact in Glasgow? Common Thread Vision (CTV) is seeking dedicated Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of our organisation.
• Location: Pollokshields Community Centre
• Eligibility: Must live within Pollokshields or the surrounding areas

CTV exists to promote equal opportunities for older adults by improving access to health, well-being, and creative activities, including arts and crafts. Our mission is to:
• Reduce loneliness and isolation
• Encourage independence and well-being
• Provide engaging community activities
What We’re Looking For
We welcome committed individuals from all backgrounds who are eager to support CTV’s growth in Pollokshields. Our aim is to ensure our Board reflects the diversity of the community we serve.
We recognise that personal commitments, such as caring responsibilities, may be a barrier to getting involved. If this applies to you, please let us know—we’d love to explore how we can support your participation.
Your Role as a Trustee
As a Trustee, you will play a key role in guiding the governance and strategic direction of CTV. Your responsibilities will include:
• Attending 8 board meetings per year (one every 6 weeks, lasting around 2 hours)
• Supporting and overseeing the development of CTV in line with its charitable objectives
• Acting in the best interest of CTV and its service users

-To monitor and support the development of Common Thread Vision in keeping with its charitable objectives and act in the interest of the organisation.

  • To support the aims and objectives of the organisation through good governance.

  • To represent the views of service users and make decisions to respond to their needs.

  • To support the development of policies and procedures as and when required.

A 10-minute walk from Shields Road Underground Station, and also a 10-minute walk from Pollokshaws Road, where multiple buses run regular services.
