Volunteer with Free Wheel North – Help Us Pedal Towards Inclusion!

Location: Glasgow Green, Glasgow

Do you believe in the power of cycling to bring people together? Join Free Wheel North, a dynamic cycling development charity that champions inclusion, accessibility, and wellbeing through the simple joy of movement on wheels.

Based at our vibrant off-road cycling track in Glasgow Green, we provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive space where people of all ages and abilities can experience the freedom of cycling. Whether it's adapted bikes, trikes, or go-karts, our fleet is designed to ensure everyone can take part – especially individuals with Additional Support Needs (ASN).

We work closely with partner organisations such as Sense Scotland, Enable, Quarriers, and the National Autistic Society to offer enriching, tailored cycling experiences for individuals and groups.

Volunteer Role: ASN Cycling Support Volunteer
We’re looking for friendly, compassionate, and enthusiastic volunteers to make a real difference by supporting our ASN participants during their visits. You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team helping to create fun, active, and memorable sessions.

As a volunteer, you'll:

Offer a warm welcome to participants and assist them in choosing suitable adapted cycles

Provide simple guidance on safe and confident equipment use

Support individuals as they navigate the track, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience

Offer one-to-one encouragement and companionship to those who need a little extra help

Help with setting up and tidying away equipment before and after sessions

When?
Volunteering typically takes place weekdays between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, with occasional opportunities in the afternoons and at weekends, depending on group bookings. We’re happy to work around your availability – whether you can commit to a regular slot or prefer to volunteer more flexibly.

No prior experience is necessary – just a positive attitude, patience, and a willingness to support others. Training and guidance will be provided.

By volunteering with Free Wheel North, you'll be part of something special – a community where inclusion rolls forward with every turn of the wheel.

How to Apply:
