Free Wheel North

Join the movement at Free Wheel North – where inclusion, freedom, and fresh air meet. www.freewheelnorth.org.uk
About the Role
Are you a natural storyteller? A social media whizz? A Canva queen (or king)? Or maybe you’re just someone who loves being part of something joyful and inclusive? Then you might be just who we’re looking for!
Free Wheel North is a Glasgow-based charity on a mission to promote inclusion and the freedom of movement for all. From our vibrant cycling centre at Glasgow Green, we offer people of all ages and abilities the chance to experience cycling in a safe, fun, and welcoming space.
We’re on the lookout for a Social Media & Community Engagement Hero – a friendly, creative volunteer who can help us celebrate and share the amazing things happening here every day. You’ll support us by managing our social media presence, helping with community outreach, telling meaningful stories, and assisting with some light admin to help keep the wheels turning.
We love creativity, we’re big fans of good energy, and we can’t wait to see how your unique voice and skills can help us share the joy of what we do here at Glasgow Green.
Training, Support & Time Commitment
We’re with you every step of the way!
You don’t need to come with loads of experience – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. We’ll make sure you feel confident, supported, and inspired in your role. Here’s what to expect:
Training & Support
• Induction: You'll get a warm welcome and a full introduction to Free Wheel North, our values, and how we roll!
• Ongoing support: Our team is always around to help answer questions, guide your creative ideas, and cheer you on.
• Skill-building: We can show you the ropes with social media platforms, content planning, Canva basics, accessibility in comms, and more.
• Opportunities to grow: If you want to take on more responsibility over time, we’ll support you to do that too.
We’re all about creating a relaxed, supportive volunteering environment where your confidence and skills can grow at your own pace.
Time Commitment
• Flexible and casual – We know life is busy, so we’ll work with you to find a rhythm that suits.
• We suggest around 2–4 hours a week, but this can vary depending on your availability and what’s happening at the track.
• Some tasks can be done remotely (like scheduling posts or creating content), and you’re welcome to come to the track to take photos, meet the team, and get inspired by the amazing people here.
Whether you pop by once a week, or prefer to chip in from home, we’re just glad to have you involved!
Ready to Roll?
We’d love to hear from you! Whether you’re ready to dive in or just curious to find out more, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Let’s get Glasgow talking about inclusion, joy, and the power of movement – together.
How to Apply:
If you are interested, please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call.
