Community Shop Coordinator

A community shop volunteer plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations and overall success the Whiteinch community shop. Greet customers warmly, assist them with finding products, and answer any questions they may have. Providing excellent customer service helps foster a welcoming community atmosphere. Being a community shop volunteer not only contributes to the local economy but also offers individuals a chance to connect with their community, learn new skills, and gain valuable retail experience.

Key Responsibilities:

•Taking delivery of goods and setting up products in the shop in a safe and appropriate manner.
•Ensuring food is handled safely and all food standard guidelines are adhered to.
•Stocking Food when deliveries come in, assist with waste management tasks and working through health and safety checklist to ensure all health and safely related tasks are complete for the week.
•Helping serve Shop customers and answer any queries they may have.
•Identifying and engaging with key partners to assist with development of the community shop project.
•Promote other services and projects that the center delivers.
•Support with the delivery of group activities when required
•Keep staff updated on any issues or concerns which may arise.
•Stock taking and cash handling as required.
•Attend volunteer meetings, training and information sessions when required.

There are no formal qualifications for this post however, the performance standards required for the post are-

• Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to effectively explain digital concepts and provide clear instructions when performing assisted shops.
