GCRA+ Trustee (with Responsibility for Safeguarding)

GCRA are recruiting for a Board Trustee who will have responsibility for the area of Safeguarding. Previous board experience is not necessary but the ability to provide oversight, scrutiny and direction is.

GCRA+ is a health charity, which was founded in 2002 by three cardiac patients to establish and provide Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation exercise classes in Grampian, led by professionally trained specialist exercise instructors.

Around 2,500 people have directly benefitted from attending our specialist exercise classes. We currently lead a network of weekly 'Healthy Heart' & 'Strength & Balance' exercise classes at community venues throughout Aberdeen City & Aberdeenshire.

We have recently reviewed and updated our Safeguarding Policy and Safeguarding Procedures, and are currently enrolling as a qualifying organisation with Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services (VSDS) to process PVG applications. We are now seeking a Trustee with experience of safeguarding to support the staff team and specifically the Services Co-ordinator. You will be the lead contact for safeguarding matters related to protected adults.

A fantastic opportunity to help and make a real difference. For more information please contact Caroline Ness, Service Co-ordinator at email: caroline.ness@gcra.org.uk

Further details about what we do and the difference we make are also available at: https://www.gcra.org.uk/
