Trustee/Director

Aberdeen Science Centre is a leading visitor attraction dedicated to inspiring a lifelong interest in science. Located near Aberdeen’s beachfront, we create engaging, educational and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages.

We are seeking to appoint two new Trustees/Directors. We welcome all applications, and particularly from young professionals within the STEM sector and those who have skills supporting Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility.

These appointments will be part of the 12-person board at ASC and will carry the responsibilities of a Company Director and Charity Trustee.


Appointments will be made for a period of 4 years with the possibility of extension for a further four years subject to approval by the Board. This post is non-remunerated.

Travel details

Board meetings are held at Aberdeen Science Centre, 179 Constitution Street every 3 months [4 times per year]. These meetings are usually for about 2 hours each, with two meetings held during normal working hours and the other two meetings held outside normal working hours. There is also the option to join the meetings via Teams, although its is expected that board members attend at least 2 meetings per year in person.

All help makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.

Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
