No matter how good our services are, we can't properly support our users/community well if we don't have skilled people in the team. If this sounds like you?... we would love you to consider volunteering with us for a few hours per week.
Ben View Resource Centre is a registered Charity which aims to promote the wellbeing of the people of Dumbarton and the surrounding area.
Volunteer Caretaker – Help Us Welcome the Community
Do you enjoy hands-on work and meeting new people? Our busy community centre hosts a wide range of groups and activities, mainly during evenings and weekends, and we’re looking for a friendly, practical person to help keep things running smoothly.
This is a great opportunity to put your DIY and caretaker skills to good use while playing an essential role in creating a welcoming space for all who visit.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a volunteer caretaker, you’ll be the first point of contact for many of our visitors. Your role will include:
Welcoming hall users and ensuring they feel supported and informed
Setting up rooms for different bookings
Ensuring the groups have left the rooms tidy after use
Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance
Reporting any issues or faults identified throughout the centre
Helping keep the centre safe, and well-organised
Who We’re Looking For
Someone with a friendly, approachable manner
Basic DIY or practical skills
Comfortable working mostly during evenings and weekends
Reliable and able to take initiative
