Volunteer Community Fundraiser

As a Community Fundraiser, you will play a key role in helping Haemophilia Scotland raise vital funds to support people living with bleeding disorders. You will use your creativity, passion, and local knowledge to organise and participate in fundraising events and activities. Your efforts will contribute directly to improving the lives of people in the bleeding disorders community in Scotland.

Specific Tasks:
• Plan, organise, and promote local fundraising events such as coffee mornings, sponsored challenges and online campaigns.
• Develop creative ideas for fundraising activities that engage your local community.
• Build relationships with local businesses, schools, and community groups to encourage support and participation.
• Support Haemophilia Scotland’s national fundraising campaigns by encouraging local involvement.
• Raise awareness of Haemophilia Scotland and the services we offer through fundraising activities.
• Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities, ensuring funds are collected and accounted for properly.
• Collaborate with the Haemophilia Scotland team and other volunteers to maximise the impact of events and campaigns.
• Provide feedback on fundraising initiatives and suggest improvements for future events.

Experience required

• Communication: Ability to engage and inspire community members, local businesses, and groups to support fundraising efforts.
• Creativity: Talent for developing unique and engaging fundraising ideas and initiatives.
• Organisation: Strong ability to plan, coordinate, and execute events and campaigns efficiently.
• Teamwork: Capability to work collaboratively with the Haemophilia Scotland team and other volunteers.
• Networking: Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including businesses, schools, and community members.
• Basic IT Skills: Ability to use online platforms and social media to promote events and communicate with supporters.
• Previous Fundraising Experience: While not required, experience in organising or participating in fundraising activities is an asset.

Travel costs can be reimbursed

Travel expenses

Volunteer roles are unpaid, but we will reimburse out of packet expenses, including travel at public transport rates or via car if it is not practicable to use public transport. The cost of meals will be reimbursed if provision is not made at the event you are attending.

Transport rates per mile: Car/Van 45p; motorcycle 24p; bicycle 20p, passenger 5p
Subsistence rates (where no meal provided at the event) £4.50 for lunch and £12.50 for more than 10 hours absence from home.
