Trail Maintenance Volunteer

Volunteer with Tarland Trails – Help Keep the Trails Flowing!

Are you passionate about mountain biking and the outdoors? Want to give something back to the trails you love? At Tarland Trails, we’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us maintain and improve our trail network.

Why Volunteer?
Volunteering at Tarland Trails is a great way to support the local biking community, meet like-minded people, and spend time outdoors. Trail maintenance is vital to ensure our trails remain safe, fun, and accessible to riders of all abilities – from kids just getting started, to seasoned pros and retirees enjoying e-bikes.

What’s Involved?
Trail maintenance includes a variety of tasks such as:

Sweeping and raking trail surfaces

Weeding and clearing overgrowth

Removing debris and fallen branches

Repairing worn sections of trail

Improving drainage

Ensuring signage is clear and visible

General upkeep to keep everything running smoothly

No prior experience is needed – just a willingness to get stuck in! We provide guidance and tools, and there’s always a good sense of camaraderie during sessions.

When Do We Meet?
Volunteer sessions run throughout the year. Most take place at the weekend, but we occasionally run weekday sessions too. Upcoming events are listed on our website:
https://www.tarland-trails.com/events-list
If you don’t see a time that works for you, drop us an email – we’re always happy to accommodate when possible, especially to support our part-time trail maintenance staff who are doing incredible work year-round.

Be Part of Something Bigger
Tarland Trails is part of the Tarland Development Group, a registered charity dedicated to supporting community initiatives in the area. By volunteering, you’re contributing not just to the trails but to a wider movement that enriches our local area.

Whether you’re a local rider, a weekend warrior, or simply someone who loves the outdoors, we’d love to welcome you on board.

Join us – and help keep the stoke alive at Tarland Trails!
