Peer Support Volunteer

Midlothian Sure start seek volunteers to support the delivery of family groups which aim to promote social inclusion, engage families in learning opportunities and improve their health outcomes. These groups will be open to all to attend, and will provide opportunities for a small group of families to undertake fun activities with others, whilst building relationships with their peers and supporting one another. Our volunteer will help to set up/ clean up activities, offer teas/coffees and facilitate one to one/group discussions; feeding back any concerns to their line manager. Time will also be needed to plan and prepare for groups ahead of time. Training and support will be given and will be ongoing.

Experience required

Volunteers should have an approachable and non-judgemental manner and have an interest in helping others. Experience in raising a family or childcare is desirable.
