Community Dog Holder

Our community dogs are specially-trained activity and therapy dog working alongside our Community Dog Handlers to help people with a range of needs to overcome challenges and develop life skills.

We’re on the look out for a volunteer to can commit to providing a long-term, secure and loving home for a dog to rest and enjoy life when they are not with their handler. In return, we offer full training, guidance and support in caring for one of our dogs on a day to day basis.

We’re currently looking for a volunteer home in one of the following areas:


Cumbernauld, Royston, Stepps, Lenzie Moodiesburn, Chryston and Croy


What does the role involve?


Commitment to provide a long-term home for a dog
Care for the dog in-line with Dogs for Good principles of training and guidance from the handler
Current driving licence and regular access to a vehicle to transport dog
A fully fenced (min 5ft) safe and secure garden
A quiet and comfortable living space for the dog to rest in the home
Access to an outdoor space, suitable for a daily free run
Children in the home should ideally be over two years of age
Dogs for Good covers all the costs for caring for the dog throughout their working lives.

This opportunity is homebased but a current driving licence and regular access to a vehicle to transport dog
