Administrator for the Board

Glencraft are a leading social enterprise and charity. Glencraft has handcrafted luxury mattresses in Aberdeen since 1843. As a Royal Warrant holder and social enterprise, we bring together traditional techniques, natural materials, and a commitment to meaningful employment. Every mattress tells a story of purpose, quality and Scottish craftsmanship.

We currently have a great volunteer opportunity for someone to help administer Glencraft's Board.

This is an opportunity to be involved with one of Aberdeen's longest-established companies.

Glencraft delivers a great night's sleep, handcrafting beds and mattresses to improve people's lives.

We have been in business since 1843. We hold a Royal Warrant from His Majesty the King, the Queen's Award for Enterprise and have supplied four generations of the Royal family at Balmoral. We also supply many leading hotels, as well as other customers in and around Aberdeen and across the world.

Glencraft is a social enterprise and the money we earn is kept in the business so we can continue providing employment and development to people whose circumstances mean they might find it hard to enter the workforce.

This volunteering opportunity is to help with our Board meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes and storing documents.

In the spirit of Glencraft's purpose, we would be happy to develop someone in the role. However, it is essential that the person doing it be well-organised and prepared to treat it in confidence.

The role also requires clerical skills. Training in minute-taking can be provided.

The main location is at Glencraft's site on Whitemyres Avenue, Aberdeen (just off the Lang Stracht).

Board meetings take place every 3 months. Writing-up the minutes of meetings can take place away from Glencraft's site e.g.: could be done form the volunteer's home. The volunteer will need to bring their own notebook, pc or other device for making notes.

Relevant training and excellent support is provided to all volunteers. Training in minute-taking will be provided but the volunteer should already have skills in written communication and have an organised approach.

A fantastic opportunity to be involved in a successful charity and social enterprise. All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.
